PHOTON Laser Tanks - LJN Toys, Ltd.

Extending on the Photon line of products, these were the first radio controlled tanks to use IR shooting/hit sensing technology incorporated into the game play.

Utilizing an IR emitter in the barrel and and number of receiver sensors around the chassis, these tanks would use a proprietary IR protocol to engage in realistic battle.  The motor control system was the first to use a fly-by-wire technique that provided for realistic recoil and motion response to game play including simulating damage to the track and transmission system in a game of this type.
