VideoArt - LJN Toys Ltd.

An electronic coloring book used with a standard television set that used a cartridges that provided licensed drawings/characters that could filled in or drawn over by the younger user.

Special content authoring, develpment, and image encoding  tools were created to transform the images from graphic artists to mass produced cartridges.

View-Master Interactive Vision - View-Master Ideal Group

Named Toy of the Year in 1989, this unique platform used specially encoded VHS tapes played on a conventional VCR to provide interactive games and activities for younger children. 

A complex system that required custom software and hardware development tools to create the interactive content and programming for each video title.  Special mastering equipment was required to mass-reproduce the specially encoded video tapes via thermal-magnetic duplication.

PHOTON Laser Tanks - LJN Toys, Ltd.

Extending on the Photon line of products, these were the first radio controlled tanks to use IR shooting/hit sensing technology incorporated into the game play.

 Utilizing an IR emitter in the barrel and and number of receiver sensors around the chassis, these tanks would use a proprietary IR protocol to engage in realistic battle. The motor control system was the first to use a fly-by-wire technique that provided for realistic recoil and motion response to game play including simulating damage to the track and transmission system in a game of this type.
