Yuli Starodubtsev, Director of Hardware Development
Mr. Starodubtsev joined the Wilmington team in 1995 as an Electronic Design Engineer, having moved to the US from Russia
specifically to join the C-Phone Corporation. He arrived with extensive experience in electronic design, analog instrumentation, RF, optical, and digital communications technologies and
quickly rose to the rank of the most senior position in system design for the company. His responsibilities include electronic hardware design, implementation, design for test, testing
methodologies, PCB design, compliance engineering, and manufacturing support.
Having designed our base hardware platforms, and in the process well over 100 PCAs and sub-assemblies, he has left
his mark on each of our products and technical efforts.
A versatile and equipped professional, Yuli's role is unique compared to other design teams in that he is the hardware designer, PCB
layout engineer, and compliance engineer. This combination of skills provides a real benefit to our efforts as these three disciplines, often separated and each problematic, are instead combined into
one. The result being less mystery to getting things right the first time with respect to the performance of the circuit layout or electromagnetic compliance concerns.
Yuli enjoys doing PCB
layout just for the fun of it, especially when EMI is the concern. He does not rely on design automation, but prefers his own intuition, based on Maxwell equations, instead. Creative and
capable, Yuli specializes in finding quick and efficient solutions, especially when time presses and the budget is tight; his efficiency seems to rise with project pressure exponentially and is
thrilled to expand his expertise into new areas.
He holds a M.S.E.E form St. Petersburg Technical University, Russia (1983).
